Craving Billions: A Billion Reasons @authorelsakurt #amreading #romance

A Billion Reasons Excerpt by Elsa Kurt

Billionaires Club 3DGriff watched Jenna from the kitchen. Phillip’s surveillance photos had shown that she was pretty. However, in person, she was striking. Griff had lied earlier when he said he’d fallen asleep against the tree. He’d been observing her as she exited the bus, noting every detail. She’d seemed colt-like, with her long legs and round brown eyes and skittish, halting gait. He cursed himself under his breath. You fool, she’s a woman, not one of your horses. He’d hesitated too long, and their introduction had been awkward, to say the very least. Griff had let her believe that he was a hired hand with only the smallest twinge of guilt. He needed her to be unguarded. If she knew he was the elusive ‘boss,’ then she’d censor her words and behavior.1534337537093-jamie-haven-used-to-be-the-all-american-boy-next-door-but-that-was-then-and-this-is-now

From behind him came Tilly’s broken dialect. “Don’t know why you hire her if you going to watch her every move like criminal. For what? She look like sweet girl. Your private investigator say so, no?”

Griff sighed and gave Tilly a caustic look. “Tilly, you do realize this house alone holds millions of dollars in art. Never mind the horses. Or the wine cellar. Everyone who works for me gets vetted. And yes, Phillip said she seems clean.”

“So why is problem? You think she will steal precious dogs? Maybe she takes your Picasso under her skinny chicken arm or put in her small bag.” Tilly laughed heartily and slapped her ample thigh.

“He also said there was nothing on her. Her paper trail leads to dead ends. No history. Her certificate is a fake. She paid her rent in cash.”

“Again, so why you hire this girl?” Tilly, a full head shorter than Griff, tried to peek out around him.

He has everything money can buy,but no one to share it with.Because Grace would have wanted me to.

Everything about her was a red flag. Yet, when he pulled the glossy eight by ten photographs of Jenna Maxwell from the manila envelope, a small, familiar voice whispered in his brain, give her a chance. It was the voice of his wife, Grace—lover of strays and misfits, heart of gold, gone from him and this world six years. Grace would’ve taken one look at that young woman in those pictures and seen someone in desperate need. He could see it. It was in the way her narrow shoulders hunched, her side glance and tight expression caught frozen in the camera’s eye. The baseball cap pulled low in another. Phillip said she was hard to photograph, her head was nearly always down. Why, Miss Maxwell? The photographs, of course, never answered. So, he did the most impractical and illogical thing he’d ever done and hired her. His mind drifted back to the evening he received her first email.

Craving Billions: Kylie: Crossing Lines @ajreneeauthor #amreading #romance

Kylie: Crossing Lines Excerpt by AJ Renee

It’s not every day someone tells you you’re worth billions. Or that your granddaddy, who you love and adore, is gone. My mind can only seem to focus on the way he says my name.

We’ve worked alongside of each other for years. He’s a good-looking man. He’s smart, driven, kind, loyal, and he doesn’t back down. Why the hell am I reacting to him this way? Today of all days?Kylie Teaser

My focus should be centered on Granddaddy. Most sane people would focus on their grief or their shock over the impending change to their bank accounts. No, I’m sitting here wondering what Brendan Knight tastes like. Will his kiss leave me breathless? Will his touch leave goose bumps across my flesh? Does he feel this pull like I do?

His eyes darken as my tongue swipes across my bottom lip. He shifts in his seat, and when I drop my eyes, everything around me freezes. Brendan is as affected by me as I am him. The dress pants are tented, the long ridge of his erection is noticeable and jerks under my intense stare.

“Kylie,” Brendan groans a warning.

Clearing my throat, I rise from my seat. My cheeks are flushed, but there is no way I’m going to acknowledge his erection or the fact that my sex is slick with need. Need for Brendan Knight. The man I’ve only admired from afar.

Billionaires Club 3DWith the folder clenched in my hand, I force myself not to run out like some inexperienced woman. It doesn’t matter that I kind of am. No, I’m not a virgin, but I sure as hell haven’t slept around either. God it’s been too long since I’ve had a good dick in me…

He grabs my bicep before I can turn the knob. My gasp is faint, but he loosens his grip. His fingers encircle my arm. “I—I’m sorry.”

My heels pivot and I’m inches from his chest as I look up into his eyes. Arousal, confusion, fear, and his apology flash across in quick succession. His jaw is hard, and those full lips are pulled into a tight line.

All the feelings crashing over me in this single second of our inappropriate touch make me dizzy. In this moment, I don’t care that he works for me. I forget why we are even in this room. The only thought in my head is how he’s looking at me.

A man has never looked at me the way Brendan Knight is staring at me. It’s a heady feeling and I can’t take it anymore. I’m not sure who moves first, but our lips meet. No, a meeting is far too weak of a word to describe the way our lips crash together. We take and give, and when his tongue teases the seam of my mouth, I open without hesitation, eager to learn his taste.

Craving Billions: Whatever You Want @Chevoque #amreading #romance

Whatever You Want Excerpt by Chevoque

Out of his close proximity, she released a held-in breath and entered the room. Inside, she realised she hadn’t even thanked him, so as she turned back, she found he hadn’t quite stepped away either, and their faces were millimetres apart.

Billionaires Club 3DThe silence persisted, as his smouldering eyes captivated her while her knees locked for a moment too long, before she stepped back.

“Uhm, thank you and goodnight. I seemed to have momentarily lost my manners,” she managed to say.

“Yeah, same to you,” he casually countered, which had her feeling disappointed, as she had hoped he also felt that electric buzz between them, but it clearly hadn’t affected him in the same way. His footfalls headed toward his room and then they stopped.

She peeked around the corner of the doorjamb and saw him look back over his shoulder. Her breath caught at the stark picture it painted, while nothing but the fear of consequences kept her from running after him.

“Just once?” he softly asked.

She took a steadying breath, knowing exactly what he meant. “Yes.”

He turned around with need in his eyes, while she rushed out of the room and met him halfway, with her arms already stretched out.

The collision of their bodies echoed in their lips finding each other’s, while his arms encircled her. The frenzied feelings burst into chaos as she felt his tongue slither over her lower lip before he nipped at the flesh.

A yearning mewl escaped her, and the little space left between them was closed as he lifted her up and she crossed her legs around his hips. Pressing her up against the wall, their tongues danced along with their bodies as he steadily ground his hard member against her sex.

Whatever this was meant to be, she’d rather not think about, but in a few seconds of clarity, she knew this went against the code of conduct for Salexis and her personal morals, so she pushed him away.

He immediately set her down and stepped back until he hit the wall behind him.Whatever You Want by Chevoque (TEASER 1)

Through the panting she found his eyes, familiar eyes she pretended to love for over a year, without realising she had done just that. It wasn’t the love she shared with Joel, it was different in every way, but she had avoided seeing it until now that she was close enough to see it in his eyes, knowing she would soon lose it.

NEW RELEASE: Covet by Rosanna Leo #amreading #romance @cravepub

35387774_1722079734584892_6619466835693666304_nCrave author Rosanna Leo stopped by to give us an excerpt and an in depth look at her new release, Covet.

A review of Covet By Rosanna Leo

I’ve been asked by the good folks at Crave Publishing to do a different sort of book feature. In short, I’ve been asked to review my own book, Covet, Vegas Sins 2. Of course, this won’t be the sort of review in which I give myself a star rating or tell you how fabulous my book is. Actually, this is meant to be more of a deep dive into the story.

I suppose I should start at the beginning. Covet was actually a book I never intended to write. You see, when I first penned Vice, book 1 of this series, I envisioned it as a standalone romance. However, Jennifer O’Neill and Lori Whitwam of Crave Publishing kindly suggested I consider expanding it into a series. I was so honoured by their suggestion that I began work right away. At the end of Vice, I resolved the romance between earlier characters Kate and Liam but there was definitely some wiggle room to continue the story of my fictional casino hotel and the people who work there.

I knew right away my hero would be Alex Markov, the man we get a peek at in Vice, but I wasn’t sure about who his heroine would be. It wasn’t long before I met my heroine Dana Hamill. She appeared to me out of the blue, as these characters often do.

In every book I write, I try very hard to come up with a fresh angle or conflict. I also try to tackle topics I’ve never tackled before. This time around, I decided to address the subject of infertility.

Why? Because I don’t think we see it often enough in romance. Very often, when a fictional couple falls in love, we hear about their plans for marriage and children. However, there are alternate endings out there. Not everyone has kids. Not everyone can. And there are plenty of people who choose not to. I really wanted this story to speak to them and to the readers who wish to read about them.

Heroine Dana learns she cannot bear children at the start of the story (no spoilers, I promise.) The knowledge throws her world into turmoil, especially regarding her fiancé Tommy. She is a proud, successful woman who knows her own worth and yet she has to grapple with unexpected emotions when the man she loves rejects her. In many ways, this is Dana’s story, her journey to acceptance and peace.

Along the way, she meets hero Alex. What begins as a steamy, surprise hookup with a handsome stranger ends up turning into a months’ long obsession for both of them. Alex is grieving and suffering from a secret shame and is definitely not looking for a new romance. But life has a way of surprising us.

How can I break Covet down for you? It’s an emotional ride. You may cry a few tears but I hope I leave you feeling all the love between these two characters as well. This book is about hope and acceptance and forgiveness, and I hope you enjoy it.

EXCERPT FOR COVET, VEGAS SINS 2, BY ROSANNA LEO

“Ms. Hamill?”

“I’m sorry. What were you saying?”

“Just that we do work closely with a number of the other hotels on the Strip. It’s a busy teaserweek in town, but I’ve heard there might be openings at the Flamingo and Excalibur. I would be happy to see if we can find you something at one of those properties.”

Okay. The time for calm was officially over. “Excalibur, huh? We booked Vice, the most sophisticated hotel on the Strip, and you want to send me to a place that has a fire-breathing dragon in the lobby?” Dana checked the clerk’s name tag. “I’m sorry, Cecilia. That just won’t do.”

“But we have no rooms.”

“Check again. I bet if you try really hard, you’ll find a couple.”

“You don’t understand—”

“Oh, I understand, believe me. Did I mention I work for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Association? I’ve spent the last few years bringing major conventions to the Strip. I have worked with every hotel and have sent a great deal of revenue in Liam Doyle’s direction.”

“Mr. Doyle no longer owns Vice. Mr. Markov is the new owner.”

Dana’s frustration erupted in a crazed laugh. “You’re missing the point, Cecilia! I’m trying to tell you I have done this before. Now I’m not blaming you. Let’s say, for the sake of argument, someone else mislaid my reservation. Mistakes happen. Systems go down. I get it. I’m just asking you to fix it. Maybe you could bump someone else and send them to Excalibur.”

“Ms. Hamill.”

“Look, we’re wasting time here. I want to speak to a manager.”

“I’m sure my manager would be happy to talk to you but she’s in a meeting.”

“Great.” Dana’s voice cracked. “Please. I don’t like causing scenes. I’ve had…a lot on my plate lately. Woman to woman, help me out here.”

A deep voice sounded over Dana’s shoulder. “Maybe I can help.”

Dana froze.

That voice.

The last time Dana heard a voice like that, it was cursing softly in her ear as its owner fucked her into oblivion.

Help me, Jesus.

She turned, degree by degree. It couldn’t be.

And yet, everything she remembered was there. The cat eyes, the sun-kissed hair, the long, hot body.

This Alex looked different, though. The stubbled, jeans-clad creature from Joe’s was gone. He’d been replaced by a man who held himself with an easy authority. Dressed in an expensive grey suit, he looked as if he’d be just as much at home on a catwalk as in a casino. His short hair shimmered under the hotel lights, a deep golden color that would make most trophy wives salivate. His lips compressed as he took in the shock on her face.

Various emotions flickered in his pale eyes. Disbelief, concern, even anger. She understood them all and would have felt them too.

It was the last emotion that caused her heart to sink.

Indifference. The Alex from her fantasies now looked at her with indifference.

Five on Friday: Interview with Author Rita Delude #amreading #romance @cravepub

RECEIVE A FREE EBOOK, CRAVING_ MAYHEM (6)Rita Delude, author of “At First Sight” in Craving: One Night Anthology stopped by today for a mini interview and an in deeper peek into her story.

  1. Do you consider writing a gift or a curse? Being a writer is a gift because not everyone can write well enough to entice complete strangers to read their words. Being a writer is a curse because it’s a sedentary career, and since I’ve started writing full time, I’ve gained weight. But much like dark chocolate, I love it.
  2. What is the best compliment you’ve ever received as an author? The best compliment I ever received as a writer was when a reader of my contemporary romance book, Kaleidoscope, was so inspired by the book in which Alice, the protagonist, opens a quilting studio, that she created a quilted wall hanging that looks like a kaleidoscope of fabrics. My words inspired her art. I was so thrilled for both of us.
  3. How old were you when you have your first kiss? I was twelve when I had my first kiss. We were playing spin the bottle at a birthday party chaperoned only by an older sister. There were no parents in sight. My mom would have “killed me” if she knew. The couple who got picked went to a closet and kissed. I still remember it even though it was a very innocent touching of lips to lips. It thrills me still to think about, even though I can’t even remember the boy’s name.
  4. Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with the “good” or “bad” ones? Yes, I read my book reviews. I bask in the good ones. If the “bad” ones have suggestions of what I should have done, I try to incorporate that into my future writing. Then, I move on. You can’t please everyone in writing or in life. I feel the same about rejection letters. I take the advice of the publisher and work to improve every day.
  5. Do you prefer traditional paperback/hard cover books or ebooks and why? I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve pretty much given up on print books; I love my Kindle. I can adjust the print size, take it everywhere, and purchase books at a low cost. Yet, I’m always listening to audio books, too, especially when I quilt and drive.

Rita also gave us an in depth look in her story At First Sight Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000447_00006]from Craving: One Night…

When I first heard the theme for Craving: One Night, I was excited because I believe in “love at first” and “happily ever after.” Many years ago, I fell in love with my husband on our first date—a blind date. I knew that very first night that he was the one I’d spend the rest of my life with. And I have.

Just a simple tip of a cap or an intense look, as Matthew gives to Julia when they enter an airplane can be the spark that starts a love affair. Also, Julia’s sensation of being “home” and safe when they first hold hands is what I remember of my “one night,” so I worked those feelings into a romantic story set on a cruise ship.

Adding humor to my work is something I normally do, so for this story Julia and Matthew take part in the Entertainment Director’s version of an old TV show called The Dating Game where a lady picks a date by asking questions of three potential gentlemen and without seeing what they look like. You may laugh at some of the crazy answers the guys create to impress Julie.

Here’s a snippet of humor from “At First Sight” from Craving One Night from just as The Dating Game begins:

“Folks, welcome Julia, here all the way from frigid Nashua, New Hampshire. But you’re never cold on a Leisure Line Cruise in the Caribbean.”

The applause was deafening.

Here goes, she thought, and read the first question in a voice that she used to get everyone’s attention at meetings. People hushed.

She so wished she could wear a sign that read: “I did not create these questions!”

“Bachelor Number One, if you were a fruit or vegetable, what would you be and why?”

Bachelor Number One: “I’d be a banana, so we could have some fun peeling me.”

The audience roared.

“Bachelor Number Two, if you were a fruit or vegetable, what would you be and why?”

Bachelor Number Two: “I’d be a strawberry, so you could suck its juices while drinking champagne and having the pleasure of both tastes in one.”

The crowd laughed.

“Bachelor Number Three, same question, please.”

Bachelor Number Three: “I’d be a long, wide zucchini to mix with your freshest salad until you were wild with desire.”

The viewers were raucous.

Julia blushed. Two more questions to go and she could escape. Relax. You’re here to have fun.

“Bachelor Number One, if you could take me on a first date to anywhere, where would it be and why?”

I hope you enjoy “At First Sight,” and I wish you your own special “one night” with someone to love.

Author Spotlight: Kenadee Bryant

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000447_00006]

Crave author Kenadee Bryant is here today so we get to know her better. She has a story featured in the brand anthology from Crave Publishing, LLC, Craving: One Night.

Do you consider being a writer a gift or a curse? Being a writer can be a gift and a curse. A gift because you literally create a whole new world for someone to get lost in. You hold the power for your readers. But it can be a curse. No matter what time of day you will be struck with inspiration, or no matter how many stories you already have half written your mind will come up with a new idea. Your mind will always be on overdrive coming up with plots, characters etc.

Do you Google yourself? I have googled myself 😀 I got so curious to see what would come up and was surprisingly shocked to see I actually had a google page that had all my stories and that I am now an Author. I think everyone has googled themselves at least once in their lives. Now that my stuff is published it is a lot cooler to google.

Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones? When my first story came out I was so excited to read the reviews, and when I read my first bad review I almost started crying. I had put so much effort into being published that it hurt. For a while I stopped reading my reviews because I couldnt handle it, even the good ones. But now I have realized that reading the reviews, good or bad, just pushes you to do better. Take the bad ones in stride and work that much harder to do better. There will always be someone out there that hates what you do and that will never be happy. As long as a few people like your stuff don’t worry about the rest. One Night-Teaser #4

What’s the sexiest accent? In my opinion I love British Accents. They are just so sexy and posh. I do love Australian or even Irish accents but British takes the cake for me.

Do you prefer reading traditional paperback/hard cover books or ebooks? Why? I honestly prefer paperback/hardcover books. There is something that I love about holding an actual copy of a book. I do have a kindle and I will read from it but I definitely prefer paperback copies instead.

Do you chose the genre you write in or did it choose you? I like to believe the Romance genre picked me. Right from the beginning I was writing romance stories before I really knew about the genre. I remember my first story was a teenfic filled with cheesy love scenes. Lately I have tried to move out of that genre and do something else but I find myself coming back to it time and time again.

What are your favorite types of characters to write? My favorite types are the bad boy/boy next door, and the hot millionaire playboy. Who doesnt love a good bad boy or a millionaire that7110ctTVeFL._UX250_ falls in love with the girl from next door. Those are always fun to write.

Rapid Fire…with Kenadee…

Tea or coffee? Coffee, unless its sweet tea.

Paperback/Hardcover or ebook? Hardback

Vampire or shifter? Shifter. Because you can shift into anything you want and you can still eventually die, unlike a vampire.

Cop or fireman? Fireman. I mean have you seen firemen? 😉

Snow or sunny skies? Sunny Skies.

Beach or mountain ski resort? Beach all the way.

Coke or Pepsi? CokeI dont drink soda often enough to know which one is better.

HEA or a more realistic ending? Happily Ever After of course!

Chick flick or action movie? Chick Flick, you can watch them more often than action. Unless its Marvel 😀

City or country? Country.

More beautiful: Sunset or sunrise? Sunset. Where I live we have the most beautiful sunsets.

Car or plane? Plane.
